Inspiring, soul-stirring, and transforming…these are some of the words that come to mind when describing the heart and music ministry of Jazz and Gospel Saxophonist, Chuck Anderson.  Chuck is a man whom God has favored, anointed, and approved as a vessel through which He can demonstrate His life-changing power.  A statuesque, yet a very demure presence, Chuck plays that saxophone like there is no tomorrow.  He states, “My musical purpose is to create an atmosphere by which the Spirit of God can move upon and enlighten His people and bring about change in every area of their lives; spiritually and naturally.”

Born into a lineage of musicians, medical professionals, and military personnel, Chuck had an array of professions and crafts from which to choose.  He graciously embraced music and the radiology profession.  His mother was a church pianist and a nurse, and his father was a military man who enjoyed farming as a hobby.  Chuck’s mother greatly influenced his decision to become a musician.  She taught him to read music at an early age and supported him in his decision to play the saxophone.  Chuck took hold of this powerful instrument and ended up “blowing” his way into a full music scholarship.

Chuck enjoys entertaining and ministering in churches, theaters, festivals, and other venues, but he knows that his true success is rooted in his submission to Christ.  He is also a composer and producer.   His mentorship was under the likes of Pianist Claude Johnson, Jr. and Texas Tenor James Clay.  He has been on the regional scene for a while canvassing his latest CD, “Walk with Me,” and now has performed on the national scene with dates in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Tacoma, Jacksonville, Memphis, and other areas of the U.S.  Chuck has opened for multi-Grammy nominated Jazz Saxophonist Kirk Whalum, opened for Smooth Jazz Saxophonist Phillip "Doc" Martin, performed in St. Louis for a tribute to Saxophonist Venard Johnson, and has performed with many bands and groups.  His song 'Another Day's Journey' won Best Song-Jazz catagory from the Akademia Music Awards.  Anderson’s musical influences include world-renowned Jazz Artist Greats such as John Coltrane, Sonny Stitt, Horace Silver and many, many others. On Sunday mornings he can be found administering the intonations of a masterful musician at the Christian Chapel Temple of Faith Church in Dallas, TX, where he has served for many years. Keep your ears tuned to the music  of Chuck Anderson.
